10th Anniversary of “Gears” to be marked with re-release again
Haydons Place put out their second record, “The Gears EP”, in February of 2012. They adopted a much harder, grittier rock sound than their previous effort, taking inspiration from the behemoths of the genre like Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters. As much as this evolution in sound engaged the band to begin with, it would ultimately lead to a fracturing of creative vision and, ultimately, the band’s break up.
“The Gears EP” underscores an important moment in the band’s history. On the one hand, it saw the boys experiment with new songwriting themes and production methods. It inspired them to mould an entirely new mindset in their musical aspirations and reinvigorated their creative journey. On the other hand, it created distance between them and their original fan base, all of whom had come to love and cherish the youthful, unadulterated pop/rock sound of “The Atlas EP”.
Regardless, as their second and final release, it remains important to their all-too-short contribution to music. And, as such, we are repeating the success of our 10th anniversary edition of “The Atlas EP” by re-releasing “Gears” as a 10-track album. Featuring the original 5 songs, remastered specially for this release, it now offers 5 additional, never-before-heard tracks, that completes the “Gears” chapter perfectly. Like the 10th anniversary edition of “Atlas”, these exclusive tracks feature early demos, live performances and the bands’ first performance on local radio.
Not only this, but for the first time, “Gears” is now available on vinyl as a 12″ LP.
If you want to support the continuing Haydons Place legacy, this is the record for you.
