Evelyn Rayne drops her second single.

The second single by Evelyn Rayne is a soaring, emotional take of the James Carr soul classing “The Dark End of the Street”.
When choosing the second single, we knew we needed to go as soulful as possible to really capture the essence of Evelyn’s raw vocal talent. That led us all the way back to the 50s and 60s – we cracked out the record player, dropped the needle on some old 45s and just immersed ourselves.
When Evelyn heard Jame Carr’s seminal composition, she knew it was the next single. Rich in vintage vibes, it had both an uplifting yet sad quality, a paradox that both intrigued and inspired.
After making it her own, she jumped into studio A at Smokey Hollow to record her vocals and delivered her most impassioned performance yet. Along with a thick, viscous layering of tightly knit backing vocals and rousing production, this cover song is undeniably Evelyn, but fear not: our version is still dripping in the soul of the original record.
